FRANK26......12-05-2015

Hello Family let us pray together,

Dear Heavenly Father, creator of all within this wonderful universe, we offer thanks for the blessings we experience on this day.  Father we pray for those who struggle for whatever reason with things in their life and pray You can be the answer for their needs be it health, marriage, financial, or what have you, You know their needs better than anyone and we pray You stand with our brothers and sisters to make their life good again.  Jesus thank You for the great sacrifice that You made to set us free, those of us who know You as Lord and Savior.  Your wonderful teachings are a treasure in our lives today just as they were for those who experienced them first hand with You so many years ago.  We are thankful for the Word that has preserved Your ministry after all these years, thankful to those men and women who helped to carve our early church into a successful entity for us to find sanctuary and peace within.  There is no feeling like having the Holy Spirit come into one’s body and heart, what a fulfilling experience to know and realize that God You walk so closely with us as the Spirit indwells within us.  Our days are forever changed when we come to realize the closeness we share with You God, no matter where we are, there You are as well.  Be with us on this day Lord and keep us strong as we stand as Your servants seeking to help whoever You send our way.  In the name of Christ Jesus, we pray….AMEN.

Welcome again Family, it is another weekend we can share with one another.  I know the time is near that we will find ourselves shaking hands, offering hugs, and greeting one another face to face, soon I am hoping and praying….what a glorious day that will be.

Sometimes we get caught up in the things that are going on in our lives and we discover that perhaps we are living a little too much in the past.  Worrying over things that have happened, wondering how they will impact our future, or how we should have done something differently, responded to a family member or friend in a different way and the list goes on and on.

When we spend too much time in our past we can tend to be drawn downward and even backward from those incessant thoughts.  For sure we need to learn from our past but not dwell for extended periods of time on the past.  After all we live in the present and we have the future to plan for and hopefully look forward to as we grow and mature in many ways.

Think about it this way, for those of us who know how to drive, and I suspect that is almost all of us, we are trained to periodically look in our rearview mirrors.  I know I used to teach scanning your mirrors every 3 to 8 seconds.  The keyword there was “scan”…..don’t dwell on what you see in the mirror though.  Why is that?  Well if you are driving down the road and you allow something in the mirror to grab your attention, can you imagine how far your vehicle travels while your attention is diverted to the mirror if you do more than just scan or glance at it.  Your attention being pulled from the front of the vehicle’s path creates a big safety hazard for you.  Thus the need to stay focused on the present and looking forward to anticipate what is coming towards you.

We need to do the same with our past…..reflect on it, but don’t get so focused on it that we miss the things going on in our lives currently.  Use what you’ve learned from the past to better prepare you for the future.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.  John 8:36

Go in Peace
Blessings to you all

Aloha
